Q; Can I cover my existing outdoor swimming pool with a Norwegian Log pool enclosure?

A: The UK's weather means we are often asked to do this, and it is usually possible.

Q: Do I need planning permission for an indoor pool?

A: In most cases the answer is no, provided it satisfies all the criteria for Permitted Development:

• It is a freestanding building at least 5 metres from the house and not attached to it

• It is less than 4 metres high at the ridge

• It is at least 20 metres from the highway

• It is behind the building line

• It takes up less than 50% of the curtilage (garden) of the property excluding the house

• The house is not listed, or in a Conservation Area

We always advise that you check with your local Planning Office before proceeding.

Q: If planning permission is required, will Norwegian Log obtain it on my behalf?

A: Following a site inspection, we will tell you whether we think planning is required. If it is, we can handle the application on your behalf for a fixed fee. In any case, we will always obtain written confirmation from the local authority before proceeding.

Q: Do you provide indoor pool packages with layouts and prices?

A: Yes. Please request our brochure and price list.

Q: I already have my own pool builder. Will Norwegian Log supply the superstructure only?

A: We will be happy to work with your own contractors, who will carry out the groundworks and install the pool, services, heating and ventilation. We will prepare all the working drawings, and on completion of the groundworks we will erect the building onto the prepared foundations.

Q: Do you install all over the country?

A: Yes. We have built hundreds of pool enclosures all over the UK.

Q: I require a large pool with a spa, sauna, gym and snooker room. Is there any limitation on size?

A: Each building is individually manufactured to your own specific requirements and there are no limitations on size within reason.
