Click here for answers to general questions.
Q: Do I need Planning Permission for a Norwegian Log Transportable Home?
A: Yes, unless you already have another form of consent.
Q: Can I replace an existing mobile home with a Norwegian Log Transportable Home?
A: Generally yes, provided you have the necessary local authority permissions. Our Transportable Log Homes conform to the Caravan Act and are built to relevant British standards. We always advise that you check with your local Planning Office before proceeding.
Q: Can I live in a Norwegian Log Transportable Home all year round?
A: All our Transportable Homes are manufactured to the very highest Norwegian standards, and will be cosy in winter and cool in summer. They are therefore ideal for year-round use.
Q: Can you suggest a site where I could purchase a Norwegian Log Home?
A: For second homes and holiday homes, please look at our Holiday homes for sale page. For residential and park homes, we suggest you contact a park of your choice and ask the site owner to supply you directly with a Norwegian Log Home.
Q: Can you deliver a Norwegian Log Transportable Home to a site with restricted access?
A: Subject to local authority approval, we can deliver to awkward and/or narrow access sites. Please speak to one of our advisors, who can arrange a survey on your behalf.
Q: Can I have an internal layout that's different from those in your standard design catalogue?
A: Transportable log homes are individually manufactured in our Norwegian factory, so within reason we can customise the internal layout to your particular requirements.
Q: What types of heating are available with a Transportable Home?
A: A range of domestic central heating systems is available, for example electric heaters or underfloor heating.
Q: Can I install a wood-burning stove?
A: Yes, but a brick or stone hearth must be installed to protect the structure.
