Case studies - Site owners and developers

That's why more and more are choosing Norwegian Log cabins and lodges as they develop their premium leisure product.

Former bank manager Andy Newman and his wife Phineka are convinced that Norwegian Log holiday homes are a good investment at their Woodlakes Leisure Park in Stowbridge, Norfolk. Dozens of lodges have been built so far, and more cabins are planned to sit neatly on the banks of five lakes that are well stocked with a variety of fish. The Newmans have continued the theme with a shop and reception centre in a Norwegian Log cabin.

Fishing a big catch

With 14 years of operation behind them, Steve and Helen Long the owners of Viaduct Fishery decided to diversify and add the potential of tourism to their successful business. They looked to Norwegian Log to supply some luxury 3 bedroom lodges, which the planners viewed favourably. 'People are blown away by the quality of the product and the way we have fitted them out. It is such a lovely setting down there with the lodges overlooking the lakes and the sun on the verandahs,' says Steve.

With free fishing included in the price of the lodges, anglers have been snapping up the opportunity to stay at Viaduct which is set in the glorious Somerset countryside.

Family owned Park make a solid investment in log

When as a student Alastair Greenshields first saw an article 25 years ago about Norwegian Log Buildings in a magazine, he thought the lodges might be ideal for his family business Penlan Holiday Park which is near Carmarthenshire's delightful Cenarth Falls. Having safely clipped the article, 25 years later Alastair's foresight has come to fruition as the business that he and his brother Graham jointly run has just completed and sold their first Norwegian Log cabin on the site.
