Case studies - Classrooms

Pupils seem to love their Norwegian Log cabin classrooms.

The staff, pupils, parents and the local education authority all praised the new classroom in the Norwegian Log cabin at Kewstoke Primary School in Somerset. The classroom could not be built by traditional methods, but Norwegian Log were able to offer a solution by carrying the logs to the school one at a time up the awkward hill. A second Norwegian Log cabin classroom has subsequently been built.

Alistair Graham, headmaster of Hall Grove School, Bagshot, purchased four Norwegian Log cabins for classrooms (which will be followed soon by a further two). The classroom cabins, each accommodating 20 pupils, are linked by decking and verandas and provide a unique light, airy atmosphere that is ideal for learning. Mr Graham believes his Norwegian Log cabin classrooms could become the model for high-quality educational design in the future.
