Meet Tessa: Helping Customers Take the First Step Towards Their Norwegian Log Dream
At Norwegian Log, we know that every customer journey starts somewhere. Sometimes it begins with a clear plan, and sometimes it starts with a brochure download, a bit of browsing and the first spark of an idea.
That is where Tessa Cozzi, our new part-time Sales Support, comes in.Tessa helps customers who are right at the beginning of their journey.
She speaks to people who have downloaded a brochure, answers their first questions and helps them understand what might be possible. In many ways, she helps kick-start the dream. “I ring customers who have downloaded a brochure and see whether they need any help or have any questions about their project,” Tessa explains.
“Some people haven’t had a chance to open it yet, or they might have downloaded one brochure but actually be interested in something else, like our pods. It’s about getting an idea of what they’re looking for and helping them take that first step.”
It is a valuable role within the wider sales team, giving customers a friendly first point of contact while helping make sure they are guided in the right direction from the start.
“A lot of people are still very early in their thinking,” Tessa says. “They might just be browsing, or they might be starting to imagine what could work for them. I can have that initial conversation, understand where they are, and help from there.”
A Background Rooted in Care
Before joining Norwegian Log, Tessa spent three years working in a special needs school, a role she describes as both rewarding and challenging.
“I loved my job, but it was very challenging,” she says. “A lot of the children were non-verbal, so you had to really understand them, their behaviours and what they needed. It was a hard decision to leave because I cared about the children and my team, but I was also thinking about my future.”
That sense of care is something Tessa brings naturally into her role at Norwegian Log. Many customers come to us because they are thinking about family, future plans, independence or being closer to loved ones.
“I still feel like I’m helping people,” she says. “Whether they’re looking for a dream home, somewhere close to family, or a way to support someone they love, it’s still about understanding people and helping them make the right decision.”
Tessa has also worked in care roles with elderly people and people living with dementia, giving her a strong understanding of why families may start exploring an annexe or log home.
“Some people have told me they’ve lost a husband, or they’re looking to be closer to a son or daughter,” she says. “Having worked in caring roles, you don’t just say, ‘What do you want?’ You listen, you show compassion, and you understand why they might be changing their circumstances."
Life Outside Work
Away from Norwegian Log, Tessa enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is close to her wider family and recently spent a weekend away with her parents, sister, husband and grandchildren.
She also loves getting on stage with Cranborne Amateur Dramatics, known locally as CADs.
“I just do it for fun,” she says. “We have a lovely bunch of people and we put on some really funny plays. I still get nervous, but I get a real buzz from performing.”
A New Chapter
Tessa is also looking forward to having a little more flexibility after many years working around school terms. She and her husband love travelling in their VW camper van, particularly to Swanage, Devon and Dorset.
“We love coastal areas,” she says. “As I get towards retirement, I’d like to do more travelling and take time off when it isn’t the school holidays.”
After the pace and pressure of her previous role, Tessa says she already feels the benefit of a healthier work-life balance.
“I do feel like there’s a bit of a weight lifted,” she says. “In my previous job, I would often leave work and still have things going around in my head. Here, when I log off, I log off. That feels really healthy.”
With her warmth, empathy and natural ability to listen, Tessa is already helping customers feel supported from their very first conversation. For those who are just beginning to browse, imagine and explore what life in a Norwegian Log home could look like, Tessa is there to help the dream take shape.
A very warm welcome to the Norwegian Log team, Tessa.
