Meet the Team: Charlie Hart, Who's Building Dreams from the Ground Up

Spotlight on staff - 03/07/25

Charlie H 1

We're excited to introduce you to Charlie Hart, one of our highly skilled log cabin installers here at Norwegian Log. Charlie recently joined our team and has quickly proven himself to be an invaluable asset, contributing enthusiasm and a strong work ethic to every project he undertakes.

In a recent conversation, Charlie shared insights into his role, his journey into log cabin installation, and what he finds most rewarding about his work. Charlie noted, "I'm currently working with Liam and Charlie on the installation of a new cabin, which is the largest I've worked on so far, and it's progressing well."

Rapid Progression in Specialised Craft

Prior to joining Norwegian Log, Charlie gained experience in domestic construction, primarily as a plasterer with some carpentry background. He recognised this new role as a significant opportunity for professional growth. He found Norwegian Log to be exceptionally supportive and professional, valuing the guidance received from both the administrative team and the on-site crew. He describes his experience as highly enjoyable and collaborative.

Despite being relatively new to the field, Charlie has already taken on substantial projects. The cabin he is currently constructing is only his second, yet it is "a lot bigger than the last one." His initial project served as an excellent introduction – a swift three-week assignment that provided a wealth of practical learning. Now, on this larger project, he is involved in nearly every aspect of the installation, "everything from the ground up, really." While he has primarily observed the more technical elements, he feels he is acquiring new skills at an impressive pace.

Balancing Work and Wellness

Outside of his demanding work schedule, Charlie is committed to maintaining an active lifestyle. He shared, "Exercise helps me with my energy levels." He is an avid rugby player, enjoys running, and makes regular trips to the gym. "I like to run in the evenings or go to the gym. And sleep is crucial when I'm working away from home like this."

Working away from his home in Newbury, Berkshire, is a new experience that Charlie is embracing. "It's been fine being away. It's definitely a change of scenery. It's rewarding to explore different parts of the UK and meet new people."

The Appeal of Specialisation and Diversity

At 21, Charlie views this role as a pivotal step in his career development. "This is a lot more specialist than what I did before," he explained, highlighting the intensive focus on carpentry. He also values the consistent variety that comes with constructing diverse log cabins in unique locations. "It's interesting because while the core structure is similar, each job has unique variations."

Charlie Hart's dedication, rapid learning ability, and positive outlook make him an exceptional addition to the Norwegian Log team. We are eager to witness his continued growth and contributions as we create our clients' visions into reality.

It's warm and it's cosy; it's solid and it's quiet. The fragrance of pine reminds you of Scandinavian forests and summer evenings. Your imagination starts to take you places. You imagine a wood burner, perhaps a desk or why not just some space to think?

Our show home is 36 years old, yet customers still say it looks and feels brand new. That's the quality of our workmanship and the materials. When you step into a Norwegian Log building you're stepping into a feeling and just like our buildings it's one that will last.
