What makes a good four bedroom annexe?
A larger granny annexe needs to do more than provide extra bedrooms. It must feel like a proper home.
From Norwegian Log’s experience, the most successful four bedroom annexes are designed around everyday independence. That means considering how people will cook, relax, sleep, store belongings, host family and move comfortably through the space.
For elderly relatives, layout matters. Bedrooms and bathrooms need to be practical. The living space should feel open and comfortable. The kitchen should be easy to use. Heating, lighting, plumbing and access all need to be considered from the beginning.
